A little about me and my yoga journey...

I created Blue Jasper Yoga as a space for beginners and those returning to yoga to find a calm, simple way to practice at home. I know how overwhelming it can feel to start or restart a yoga practice— especially when life is busy and you crave a quiet place to reconnect.

I am a 54 year old wife, mom of 4, and proud grandmother of 9. The older I've gotten, the calmer my life has become. I can tell you, however, that it wasn't always that calm! Anxiety, panic attacks, and a major life change led me to fervently search for peace. I wanted a home that was a haven and a physical practice that gave me a daily dose of seratonin.

I took my first yoga class with a friend and I knew instantly that it was part of my answer. My faith is rooted in God and I embraced yoga for its benefits to the body and mind, using it as a practice for wellness, meditation, and gratitude. I completed my yoga certification at Ashville Yoga Center in North Carolina and did teach for a while. Now I practice at home for everyday zen.

Yoga is a personal practice, but also a practice to be shared with others. I hope you find your answers and join the yoga journey.
